When all else fails, they are your foundation

If you are confused or are wondering who your real friends are and what a real friend is then read on. During our lives, especially at school, friends are really important to us and for us. They are there for you when you really need them. Have your back when no one else does. They are willing to help you with real problems that you’re facing, they might not help the problems go away completely, but true friends won’t go away.

They might do something that don’t like for your own good, with good intention but when you look back on what they did you end up being grateful that they did what because you couldn’t do it for yourself. When you are crying, never ending, heavy tears rolling down your face like droplets of rain, they are there with tissues in their hand and words that soothe your heart or even a joke up their sleeve so that you end up emitting a smile of gratitude that you have them to make you feel better.

They will try and put you over themselves and listen to your stories and issues and woes, till relief fills your spirit and ease spreads within your heart. They don’t pressure you to do bad things they only pressure you to do things that are good for you. And when they are boiling with anger and lash out on you, they don’t mean to hurt purposefully, they just couldn’t control themselves, they were having a bad moment, or possibly a bad day. You’re all lucky to have one another because when all else fails they are your foundation.

Building your confidence is what they do, they don’t shatter it before your eyes. They cheer you on and praise you for your achievements and don’t get jealous, they feel sincere happiness for you and are proud to call you their friend just like you are proud to call them yours. You can’t help but smile when you see them and on the days you wish you could crawl up in your bed, on days you wish were already over, you’re glad that you have them to make the day go faster and to brighten the darkness of that day. And when you need motivation and a good laugh, they give you that.

Most importantly above everything else, they love you and respect you completely for who you are. They might not always understand why you do what you do but they respect it anyway even if they can’t help but question you about it. They give you the advice you need not what you always want to hear and know what to say and do during times that are difficult for you to live through. Space is something they try to give you when it’s

important for you to have.

But not all ‘friends’ are like this. Just like not everyone you lose is a loss. Sometimes like they say, you have to build the new to shed the old.

Thanks Rizka, I think that it crucial that we always surround ourselves with the best of company, those that lift you up, lead you towards good things and, are there for them when you need a shoulder to lean or cry on. And if we have friends that aren't like this and are toxic in our lives then we should try to keep our distance as much as possible and eventually cut that bad energy from our lives :)
